How I spent Father’s Day with someone else’s father!

Howell MI Photographer-

I seem to miss a lot of my family functions because most weddings are on the weekends and that’s when most of our family functions are planned.  Well….I missed another one with my family, but for a VERY good reason.  A very good friend of my husband’s and mine was celebrating her father’s 100th Birthday celebration! That’s right – 100 years old!   The family hired a photographer to capture the event – the most awesome Katey from Love Kate Photography, but how could I pass up the chance to bring my camera along to capture a feat that we would all like to achieve! John was born in 1913 and just celebrated his 100th birthday!

Instead of writing this blog as the event photographer, it’s coming from me, the friend, and I just want to show what an amazing job Carole did putting this party together.  Not only did she make the cake, make all of the food, decorations, she also put together the most amazing 20 foot plus timeline from 1913 until now about her dad’s life and important events along the way.

Her father, John, had always wanted to go to a Tiger’s game for his 100th birthday with all the family; since he couldn’t make it there Carole brought the Tiger’s to him by throwing him a Detroit Tiger’s themed party….with a special guest appearance by Paws.  Here’s just a small peek into the day!

John was an engineer and had built his grandson a robot costume for Halloween.  Check out the plans he drew up for it.  The costume came with fully functioning bells, whistles, and lights.

Happy Birthday Mr. Bendick!!!
