Julie & Jason, she said “yes!”

Spicer’s Apple Orchard Engagement Session – Bee Happy!

Since Al and I are new bee keepers I couldn’t have been more excited when I found out that Julie’s job is studying the honey bee and pollination.  Her studies of the honey bee and pollination are what inspired this spring orchard and bee themed engagement session. These two were so fun to photograph and I couldn’t have loved Julie’s dress more!  Please click on this link to find out how you can help protect the honey bee – Save the Honey Bees.

Special thanks to Spicer’s for being so generous and letting us photograph there, it’s really one of my favorite cider mills in Michigan!  Spicer’s Cider Mill

Mariah and Michael say “I Do!”

A Howell Opera House Wedding, Howell, MI

It’s always such a nice treat to shoot in my hometown of Howell, MI, and even more of a treat to photograph at the Opera House.  Mariah and Michael’s black, white, and gold themed wedding was stunning and I especially loved her shoe choice and bridesmaids dresses!  The weather was on our side and even though it rained, it held out long enough for their first look, bridal portraits, and family formals so I couldn’t ask for more than that!  I loved Mariah and Michael’s balloon launch after the ceremony; traffic stopped for us as we all ran out onto the road and commandeered Grand River.  Special thanks to Aaron Reed for second shooting!  Here’s some highlights from their day.

Corktown, Detroit, Engagement Session – Katie & Dan

Katie and Dan met like any typical college kids……playing beer pong!  They were matched up as a team and not sure if it was good or bad but they were the winning team all night long.   Dan took on most of the drinking for the team and ended up leaving (I’ll leave those details out) without getting Katie’s number.  Thankfully he had enough information about her to be able to track her down and the rest is history.  When I asked these two about an engagement session they really didn’t see themselves as the “engagement session” type.  They are best friends and love just hanging out together; whether it’s watching sports or going to a restaurant trying new foods or wines.  One of their favorite bars is The Sugar House in Corktown.  When I “googled” it I saw it’s listed as one of the top 20 romantic bars in the United States, and then to top it off it’s the very bar they were heading to when Dan proposed to Katie.  All planets lined up, we got permission to take some photos there and their photo shoot turned into one of the most fun ever! We strolled around Corktown and then ended the session and headed to the Two James Distillery to grab a drink and one thing lead to another and we had an awesome extended engagement session.   The fun will continue when I photograph these two and their Detroit Wedding centered around the Gem Theater….I’m so excited!

And just because……love the out takes!!!
