Brandon & Amber are engaged!!!

The first time I met Brandon and Amber was in Sedona, AZ, shooting Brandon’s sister’s wedding.  Brandon and Amber met each other for the first time in Wisconsin, they live in Baltimore, I shot their engagement session in Michigan and I’m going to be photographing their wedding in Pennsylvania. I don’t know why but I think that’s really funny – it just goes to show what a small world this really is.  This was such a fun engagement session for me – we did the entire shoot at Spicer’s Apple Orchard in Hartland, a place my husband and I frequently visit in the fall.  My husband and I  normally go during the week and so I didn’t think much of it until I got there for the session and realized that all of Michigan must go there on Saturdays, there were at least 2,000 people there.  Thankfully the place is gigantic so we found our pockets of solitude for the photos.  They are such a beautiful and fun couple!!!   Here are some of the highlights from their session.

Chris & Biza are Married!!! MI State Hawk Hollow Wedding

After being with my husband, Al,  for more than 14 years,  stories will repeat and we just smile and let the other one continue even if we’ve heard it 20 times before and on occasion we will even say “tell me that one again about….”  Well if I could see Biza and Chris once a year for the rest of my life I’d make Biza tell me the story about her dressing up as a school official for Halloween (a story her brother told during his speech) and Chris tell me the story of how he met one of his best friends and the first night they spent together (a story his best friend told while the guys were getting ready).  Before you meet Biza and Chris you might think “from Washington DC, works for the government – they might be reserved”….well I threw that idea out the window the moment I saw Biza doing the robot dance while getting ready with her bridesmaids.  These two are sooooo much fun, even during the formal shots they had so much fun with each other.  They are going to have a life filled with laughter, dancing (because they both ROCKED the dance floor), and happiness.  Here is some highlights from their wedding and boy was it tough to narrow it down for the blog!

Don & Jessica’s Howell Engagement session

Jessica and I hit it off right away even on our first conversation, I feel like I’ve known her forever.  However, the first time we actually met was on the day of the engagement session but it was so comfortable….like photographing friends.  I was so happy that Don’s daughter came to the shoot and jumped in some pictures….she’s a knockout and will definitely break some hearts when she’s older.  It was a rainy day, but stayed dry just for our shoot…give or take a few rain drops 😉 What a super cute couple….here’s some highlights from their session.

Vicki & Keegan are Married!!! Birmingham, MI – The Community House

Vicki and Keegan chose September to get married because they wanted to get past the summer heat – well, in Michigan you never know what you’re going to get.  It was in the mid 90’s on their September 3rd wedding day with massive storms.  However, somebody was looking out for them because the storms circled south and north and they managed to get a rain free day…..hot, very hot but rain free.  Their wedding was every photographer’s dream, they alloted 2 hours…..yes 2 hours, count them – 2 hours for nothing but couples portraits….woo hoo!!!  That never happens and oh my gosh was it fun.  We walked all over downtown Birmingham and I had a field day.  Normally I am lucky to get the couple for 15 minutes of alone shots so I felt like I hit the Lotto with all that time.  We took sassy shots, shots with their pet, romantic shots, walking shots, theatre shots, artsy shots, they even unlocked the bar at the Townsend for us to shoot there.  Here’s some highlights from their bridal photo shoot.  What a gorgeous couple!!!!!
