Jesse & Hannah Tie the Knot

Jesse and Hannah had their wedding at a romantic bed & breakfast – the wedding was small and intimate, and very romantic.  There were lots of tears, emotions, and such a strong feeling of love between these two.  I felt so privilaged to be a part of such a special day.  Hannah looks like she stepped right off of the movie screen – what a knockout!  I loved her veil, dress, hairstyle, shoes, venue,..etc, etc.  It was such a fantastic wedding!

Matt & Amanda’s Engagement Session

Matt and Amanda’s session was so much fun, there were outfit changes, unlimited cool locations, and a gorgeous couple to photograph.  I can’t wait to see Amanda dressed as a bride – she’s so gorgeous with her red hair and stunning blue eyes.  Here’s some highlights from their session at Meadowbrook Mansion. This was the first time I’ve ever seen the mansion and I can’t wait to go back and spend some time just snooping around, it’s beautiful – it’s crazy to think that it was one family’s home.

My Day Off

I’m not much of a personal blogger because any free time I may have I try to get some sleep or catch up on phone calls or run to the grocery store, clean the house, take the dogs for a walk, spend time with my husband, weed the garden, water the garden, etc, etc.  This time a year doesn’t allow for any days off – EVER – because it’s back to back weddings, high school seniors, miscellaneous jobs and I have to pack it all in the summer and fall because come winter the bank account goes on a steady decline until the end of Spring and time to do it all over again.  A summer “day off” I might only put in 6 hours of photoshop time compared to a normal day which runs between 12-14 hours, 7 days a week.  For every wedding I shoot it takes me 2 weeks to photoshop it and polish it up and if I’m shooting a wedding every week-sometimes two , well that means that  every week I fall one week further behind all the while having a daily photo shoot of a senior, or engagement session, or whatever…you get the drift.  Why am I telling you all this?  Because my sweet, sweet, beautiful niece, Sarah asked if she could come spend some time with me and Uncle Al because she misses us.  How could I say “no” to such an adorable freckle face cutie patootie?  So on my day off today I swam in the lake, went for a boat ride, visited the neighbors horses and played with her 11 dogs, fished, went for an ATV ride, played in the sand, layed in the sun, played fetch with Dudley, did Sarah’s hair and for fun, just for fun took out the camera because why?  I love taking pictures!  That’s what I do.  So to my long list of clients  – I promise I’m working around the clock to get your galleries done as fast as I can, but for today – one day – my day went to Sarah ….and it was wonderful!

Jesse & Hannah’s Engagement Session

Jesse is in the airforce in Idaho so the only way we could squeeze in an engagement session was to shoot it 3 days before the wedding.  Both Jesse and Hannah grew up in Rochester, MI, and wanted to do their engagement session in and around Rochester.  What a great place for a photo session!  I’m so glad that is where they picked, even a little rain couldn’t put a damper on the session.  First, I was so excited when Jesse got out of the car and had his uniform on – who doesn’t love a man in a uniform?  Second, Hannah had the cutest sundress and brought rain boots and an umbrella in preparation for the coming rain …which those shots turned out so adorable (let’s face it, she would be adorable in anything – she’s drop dead gorgeous!)  Third, when the rain hit Hannah recommended we go over to the Rochester Mills Beer Co. to wait out the rain, and that turned out to be a great spot to snap some shots.  There were only a few people in there because it was the middle of the day on a weekday and they were so nice and let us move some tables around to get some great shots.  Go check out some of their beers if you are in the area http://www.beercos.com/ .
